Commission should approve new transformation methods

June 3, 2016 by Barbara Verplancken

Issues around the use of animal by-products are a major obstacle to the development of a European Single Market for many organic-based fertilizers. This is the key message from Benoît Planques (Italpollina) in a video interview recorded by European Biostimulants Industry Council (EBIC). Speaking in his capacity as an ECOFI representative to DG GROW’s Fertilisers Working Group, Benoît’s video message then urges policymakers to clarify the rules so that more animal by-products can be revalorized as organic-based fertilizers.

The interview was recorded at the recent European Parliament event on “New Tools for Farming the Circular Economy: Creating a Single Market for the Fertilizing Products Farmers Need” (See related story).
